Alongside Abrons Art Center, Magnum Foundation is excited to host a public zine workshop celebrating Asian American and Pacific Island Heritage Month and Lower East Side History Month. All are welcome!
Stop by anytime to make your own zine! It can be about your story, your family, your community, your relationship with your neighborhood, about someone else – anything you want it to be. We will have scanners and printers, all materials will be provided. We also encourage you to bring personal digital or physical materials you’d like to include in your zine, such as: pre-existing drawings, scans, hand written notes, digital photo copies of your family, friends, places (can be on your phone or laptop), voice notes, more craft materials, or anything else. This workshop is open to all ages.
We will be also showcasing zines created by Chinatown community members, including members of Think!Chinatown, Chinatown Art Brigade, Apex for Youth, and Grand Street Settlement, to highlight Chinese-American stories and histories.
This workshop is organized by Chris Deng and Tif Ng.
